IRS Audits and Audit Review
IRS Audits
Currently, audits conducted by government entities such as the Internal Revenue Service is a way of life. While our valuations are designed to provide enough information to be “Accepted as Filed”, there are a number of factors outside of our control. Therefore, audits occur.
Should one of our valuations be audited, we will meet with the government agent to explain and substantiate our opinions. We have met with agents from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and Department of Labor (DOL) on numerous occasions.
IRS Audit Review
Should you or one of your clients have an existing audit under way (in which our firm did not prepare the appraisal), we will perform an audit review. In this review we will consider the opinions which have already been submitted to government agencies. To the extent possible, we will meet with these government agents to assist in resolving differences. We will work to help receive a positive resolution.
